Miles, Sears & Eanni attorney Christopher C. Watters reached a $410,000 settlement on behalf of
Steven Tiller for personal injuries sustained in a motorcycle versus dog collision on April 1, 2020.
At the time of the collision, Mr. Tiller was riding his 2015 BMW motorcycle southbound on SR25 in San Benito County. Defendant allowed his unleashed dog to escape his property and run onto the highway directly in the path of Mr. Tiller’s motorcycle resulting in the collision.
As a result of the collision, Mr. Tiller suffered a right distal tibia and fibula fracture. Mr. Tiller
underwent open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) surgical intervention for his right distal tibia
fracture. An intramedullary rod was inserted to stabilize the tibia fracture and two screws proximally and three screws distally were applied. The fibula fracture was generally aligned without an open reduction internal fixation.
The parties reached a settlement of $410,000.
