Miles, Sears & Eanni attorney Richard Watters recently reached a $5,000,000 settlement in the wrongful death case Rotondaro v. Kings Rehabilitation Center. The case settled before a complaint was filed for the full $5 million of insurance coverages.
Decedent Paul Rotondaro was driving eastbound on State Route 140 to an overtime assignment at the Mariposa Cal Fire Station on October 2, 2019. An employee of Kings Rehabilitation Center attempted to pass a vehicle traveling westbound and pulled out in front of Mr. Rotondaro’s vehicle resulting in a head on collision. There was also property damage to the vehicle being passed. Mr. Rotondaro and the other driver passed away at the scene.
The parties settled on March 19, 2020 and the minors’ compromises were approved by the Merced County Superior Court on August 6, 2020.
