Miles, Sears & Eanni attorney Christopher C. Watters reached a $100,000 settlement on behalf of Lindsy Whitley for personal injuries sustained in a motor vehicle versus scooter collision on September 22, 2020.
At the time of the collision, Ms. Whitley was riding her Spin Scooter eastbound on N St in Sacramento County. The defendant was traveling in the same direction on N St ahead of Ms. Whitley, and came to a stop at the traffic light. As Ms. Whitley approached the traffic light, the light turned green and she proceeded through the intersection to the left of defendant. Defendant made a left turn directly in front of Ms. Whitley causing the collision. Ms. Whitley alleged that the defendant did not have her turn signal activated before making her left turn.
Liability was disputed as the investigating officer found Ms. Whitley at fault based on a witness
statement.
As a result of the collision, Ms. Whitley suffered a fractured ankle requiring surgical intervention.
The parties reached a settlement for the defendant insurance carrier’s policy limit of $100,000.
